Born in Huelva, southern Spain, in 1971, Pedro Rodriguez Garrido studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Seville. Since graduating, he has developed a distinctive artistic style inspired by the energy, architecture and visual complexity of the modern city.

Pedro’s fascination with urban environments has led him to explore some of the world’s most iconic cities, with New York providing a particularly powerful source of inspiration. Influenced by renowned American artists such as Edward Hopper and Richard Estes, his art captures the atmosphere of city life through dramatic road scenes, panoramic views and striking architectural perspectives.

The city’s infrastructure and constant movement are central themes throughout his work. From busy streets viewed at ground level to expansive cityscapes seen from above, Pedro creates paintings that feel alive, breathing with energy and movement.

His unique technique involves building oil paint layer upon layer, often dragging relatively dry paint across the canvas to create richly textured surfaces.
